FLOOD INFORMATION OPEN HOUSE

Join City of Salem staff and volunteers for a free public event focused on flood preparedness on Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 5:30 to 7:30 at the South Salem Senior Center, 6450 Fairway Avenue SE.
This event will focus on ways to prepare yourself, your family, and your property before a major flood event occurs. Red Cross and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteers will be available to give tips about preparing an emergency kit, flood safety, and more.
City staff will have several informational booths regarding flood mitigation efforts, floodplain mapping, flood insurance, updates to the Stormwater Master Plan, Salem's Community Alert System, details about Salem's flood emergency warning systems, and ways to predict and plan for impending flood events.
